1940’s Wedding Gown, Cream, Wool Mix/damask, size XXS
This stunning gown was Made in Adelaide SA in 1947. I have included in the gallery a photo of the original Bride and Groom, and my re-enactment of the photo for my Instagram page. The men’s suit is also available to purchase.
I have spent many hours restoring this unique gown to perfection. I hand washed her a few times to remove stains, and now she looks truly fabulous. She also needed a little mending on some seems but all fixed now, and ready for her new owner.
The pretty lurex trim around the neckline and dropped waistline is a simplistic and modest feature, so reflective of this era.
In a flat lay, the bust is 78cm, waist is 72cm, hips are 75cm, the length from shoulder to the front of the gown is 119cm and to the train is 204cm long, from the shoulder. There is a little bit of stretch in the fabric.
